Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog! For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Anna, and today, I’m excited to share a Bible journaling kit tour with you all! Whether you’re new to Bible journaling, just starting out, or have been journaling for a while, this post is for you. I’ll be walking you through the products I use, why I love them, and how they help me in my Bible journaling practice. Plus, I’m going to show you exactly what’s in my Bible journaling bag.
What’s in My Bible Journaling Bag?
First off, let me give you a little peek at my Bible journaling bag. I personally love using a large pencil pouch because I need space. I don’t like my supplies to feel cramped, and this pencil pouch from Mr. Pen is absolutely my favorite. It’s the perfect size—not too big, not too small—and fits everything I need without feeling crowded. Plus, it has great storage compartments for all my accessories.
Now, let’s dive into the actual products I keep in my Bible journaling bag.
Transparent Sticky Notes
These are a must-have for me. I love using them to place over the columns in my Bible. The best part? If I make a mistake, I can just peel it off and try again. The different colors are a fun touch too!
Washi Tape
Washi tape is one of those personal preference items. Some people love it, others don’t. For me, I enjoy using it to make my Bible pages look a little more decorative. It’s an easy way to add some personality and aesthetics to the pages.
Cross Clips
These little cross clips are another fun addition to my Bible journaling kit. I use them to clip in sticky notes or prayer cards, or just as a decorative touch. They’re small but add a nice detail to my pages.
Pens and Highlighters
When it comes to Bible journaling, having the right pens and highlighters is crucial. I use Mr. Pen’s MStop Bible Pens, which are non-bleed—this is so important, especially when working with thin Bible pages. They also have a sleek, neutral color palette, which I love for that clean and simple aesthetic.
I also use mechanical pencils to get into those fine spots where a pen just won’t work. These are also great for doing little drawings in my Bible.
Speaking of drawing, the Mr. Pen Transparent Note-Taking Pen is another essential in my kit. I use these with the transparent sticky notes because they don’t smudge, and the black ink really pops on the clear notes.
Another key item is the Fine Line Highlighter. I love this one for underlining key verses and adding a little shadow effect to words or drawings. It’s perfect for creating subtle highlights.
And then, my favorite highlighters: the Chisel Tip Highlighters. These are non-bleed and have a great chisel tip that’s perfect for highlighting larger sections of text. I also love the Sleek Gel Highlighters, which are smooth and creamy, providing a nice, clean application.
Bible Journaling in Action
Let me show you how I use these products. Today, I’m journaling in Psalm 67. I always like to start by reading through the entire chapter and reflecting on the verses before I begin my journaling.
Psalm 67 starts with, “May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us…” I decided to highlight this verse because it really spoke to me. I like to use color schemes when I highlight, so I chose a rosy highlighter for verse 4, which says, “Let the nations be glad and sing for joy…”
I also love to underline key phrases. For example, I underlined “make his face shine upon us” because it’s a powerful reminder of God’s grace. After that, I decided to draw some music notes to represent singing for joy—because that’s what the verse is all about!
Bible journaling doesn’t have to be perfect, and that’s the beauty of it. You don’t have to be an artist to create something beautiful. For me, it’s about expressing my faith and reflecting on Scripture in a way that feels personal and meaningful.
More Than Just Bible Journaling
The great thing about these products is that they’re not just for Bible journaling. I also use them to take notes during my quiet time with the Lord. Whether it’s a prayer journal or a simple notebook, these supplies work perfectly to highlight and annotate any notes or reflections I have.
Why I Love Bible Journaling
Everyone’s Bible journaling practice will look different, and that’s completely okay! Your journal might be full of colorful artwork, or it might be full of notes. The important thing is that it reflects your own personal journey with God. There’s no wrong way to do it—just do what feels right for you.
If you’re new to Bible journaling or have been thinking about giving it a try, I highly recommend it. Even just setting aside 5 to 10 minutes a day to reflect on Scripture can be a powerful and enjoyable part of your daily routine.
