Hey friends, and welcome! Whether you're new to your faith, looking to deepen your walk with God, or simply love all things stationery and Bible study—I'm so glad you're here. Today, I want to talk about something close to my heart: how our quiet time with God evolves over the seasons of life.
Let’s be real—quiet time isn’t a one-size-fits-all experience. It doesn’t stay the same forever, and guess what? That’s completely okay. Actually, that’s normal.
College Years: Simple Nights, Honest Prayers
When I was in college, my quiet time often happened at night. My days were full—classes, assignments, friendships, church service. So I found peace late at night, sitting in bed with my Bible and journal, processing the day and letting God speak into it.
There wasn’t anything fancy about it—no elaborate routine or special setting. But I learned something really important in that season: God doesn’t need a perfect setup to speak. He just needs an open heart.
Post-Grad: Finding Rhythm Again
After graduation, I entered that awkward "in-between" phase. I wasn’t a student anymore, but I also hadn’t settled into a routine. My quiet time became more sporadic, and with that came guilt. I felt like I wasn’t doing it “right” anymore.
That’s when I realized I needed rhythm—not perfection. I started using simple tools to create that rhythm. Things like:
- Sticky notes with scripture on my mirror
- A Bible reading tracker
- Highlighters to help focus
In that season, God reminded me: consistency doesn’t always mean 6 a.m. with candles lit. Sometimes it just means choosing to come back again and again.
Now: Creating Space to Be Present
Today, I work from home, and I’ve discovered that early mornings work best for me. Before emails, before social media, before the noise—I sit with the Lord.
My setup has become a little more structured now:
- Mr. Pen journal for thoughts and prayers
- Gel pens and highlighters to mark scriptures
- Transparent sticky notes to jot down insights
This season has been about slowing down, making space, and letting the Word really sink in—not rushing through, but being present.
No Matter the Season, God Meets You There
Maybe you’re reading this and you're in a hectic season or a dry one. Maybe you're a mom, a student, juggling multiple jobs, or just emotionally worn out.
Friend, let me gently encourage you: God isn’t measuring your devotion by how many chapters you read. He’s after your heart.
Even if it’s just a verse on an index card or a whispered prayer in the car—those moments matter.
That’s why I love Mr. Pen tools. They make it easier to stay connected with God, no matter what season you're in.
Let’s Encourage One Another
I'd love to hear from you—what season are you in right now? What does your quiet time with God look like? Drop a comment and let’s be honest with each other. Your quiet time doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s to be meaningful.
If you're looking for tools to support you, I’ll link some of my favorite Mr. Pen products below—whether it’s journals, highlighters, planners, or sticky notes, they’ve got you covered.
