Using Stationery to Deepen Your Quiet Time with God | Bible Journaling Tips with Mr. Pen

Hey everyone, welcome back to the Mr. Pen blog!
I'm Amy, and I’m so glad you're here. Today, I’m beyond excited to partner with Mr. Pen once again to share five creative and meaningful ways you can use stationery in your quiet time with God.

Sometimes, all it takes to refresh your devotional routine is a little inspiration—and using tools like highlighters, sticky notes, and journals can make your time in the Word more organized, engaging, and honestly, more fun.

So go grab your Bible, your favorite cozy drink, and let’s dive in—one pen stroke at a time.

1. ✍️ Highlight with Purpose

Highlighting might seem like a basic tool—but it’s powerful. I use Mr. Pen’s Bible Safe Highlighters because:

  • They don’t bleed through thin Bible pages
  • They come in soft, beautiful colors
  • They’re gentle enough for everyday use

To take it deeper, create a color-coding system:

  • 💛 Yellow for God’s promises
  • 💙 Blue for commandments
  • 💗 Pink for God’s character
  • 💚 Green for our identity in Christ

This helps you connect with Scripture more intentionally and encourages you as you flip through your Bible. One of my favorite verses to highlight is John 15:5:

“I am the vine; you are the branches...”
It reminds me to stay connected to Jesus daily.

Bonus Tip: Add a sticky note beside highlighted verses to write a reflection, prayer, or question for later study.

2. 📝 Stick with Sticky Notes

Mr. Pen’s pastel sticky notes are my go-to for quick reflections, questions, or spontaneous prayers.

  • A verse moves you? Write a prayer and stick it in the margin.
  • Feeling curious? Write, “What does this mean, God?” and revisit it later.
  • Want to bless a friend? Snap a pic of your note and send it to them.

Sticky notes turn quiet time into conversation—with God and with others. If you ever feel stuck, writing a simple prayer can shift your focus back to Him. He always wants to hear from you.

3. 📓 Journal It Out

I’m a huge journaler, and Mr. Pen’s notebooks are some of my favorites. They’re:

  • Affordable
  • Lay flat (yes, please!)
  • Super smooth to write on

After reading a passage, I ask myself:

  1. What stood out to me?
  2. What is God saying in this text?
  3. How can I apply this in my life?

I use Mr. Pen’s fine point pens—no smudging, no bleeding, just clean writing. Journaling helps turn Scripture reading into a conversation. In seasons where I felt distant from God, journaling reminded me that He’s always faithful, even when I don’t feel it.

4. 📚 Bible Tabs = A Game Changer

Have you ever flipped through your Bible looking for Micah... and landed in Matthew instead? 🙈
Same.

That’s why I love Mr. Pen’s Bible tabs. They’re:

  • Cute and colorful
  • Super easy to apply
  • Perfect for beginners

Not only do they help you find books faster during church or Bible study, they also help you learn the books of the Bible over time. And they make your Bible feel beautifully personalized—like your own journey through God’s Word.

5. 💡 Memorize with Scripture Cards

One of my favorite quiet time tools is making Scripture memory cards using Mr. Pen’s colorful index cards.

Here’s how I use them:

  • Write a verse I want to memorize for the week
  • Decorate with washi tape or stickers
  • Keep them near my mirror, in my purse, or even in my car

Some days, I’ll pray the verse over myself or speak it out loud when I need encouragement.

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind...” – Romans 12:2
Memorizing truth rewires your thinking and renews your heart.

❤️ Final Encouragement

So there you have it—five simple but powerful ways to use stationery in your quiet time with God.

Whether you’re a highlighter, a journaler, or someone who’s just getting started, these tools aren’t about looking perfect or being aesthetic. They’re about connecting with Jesus and making the Word of God feel alive, personal, and practical.

Huge thanks to Mr. Pen for creating tools that make it easy and joyful to grow in faith!
