First, cut out Santa's head and red hat on the pieces of paper. Draw on his eyes, pink cheeks and nose, then jot down 1-25 on his white beard. Making a popsicle stick wreath is a fun and easy craft for kids of all ages. All you need is a few supplies, including small and large craft sticks, paint, glue, and a 12" foam wreath. To get started, have the kids paint the sticks in three different shades of green. Once they're dry, begin gluing them to the wreath, overlapping and mixing the shades of green as you go. A red ribbon makes a beautiful finishing touch. This project can be easily customized to suit any season or holiday - simply change the colors of the paint and ribbon to create a festive wreath for Christmas, Easter, or any other special occasion.
3. Pom Pom Ornaments
Pom pom ornaments are a fun and easy craft for kids of all ages. To make them, simply tie a long loop on each pom pom to use as a hanger. Then, cut various shapes out of cardstock to decorate each pom pom. If you’re cutting with kids, you can draw the shapes and have them cut along your lines. Once the shapes are cut out, place a dot of low temp hot glue down in the pom pom where you’d like to glue on the cardstock shapes. Press the cardboard into the glue until the glue cools. Finally, glue a tiny pom pom onto the front of each large pom pom to look like a nose. These ornaments are sure to bring some holiday cheer to your home!
4. Felt Dog Ornament
Customize a felt dog ornament to match your real-life furry friend! These make for perfect Christmas tree decorations and thoughtful gifts for the dog-lovers in your life. All you need is some felt in various colors, a hot glue gun, scissors, straight sewing pins or a fabric marker/chalk for tracing the pattern pieces, ribbon or string for hanging. Cut out the pieces of your dog (or dogs) according to your pup’s coat colors and features. With glue, begin to tack down and glue down all of the features on the front of the pups face. Then set the face aside to dry completely. When your face is dry, lay it over top of another piece of felt for the backing. Trace or cut around your completed face to get the exact size of the backing. Cut a piece of ribbon for the top. Then begin assembling the whole pup head by gluing or sewing all the pieces together. And voila – you’ve got an adorable, personalized felt dog ornament!
5. Christmas Character Candy Pots
These darling little Christmas character candy pots are so much fun to make! And they're really not that difficult, either. Just gather up some mini flower pots, paint, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, felt, ribbon or other embellishments, hot glue or craft glue, and candy. Then let the kids have at it! They can paint their pots whatever color they like and add whatever embellishments they want. Use your imagination and have fun with it! These make great gifts for friends and family - just fill them up with candy and enjoy!
6. Popsicle Stick Window Ornament
Popsicle stick window ornament is a fun and easy craft for kids. All you need is some popsicle sticks, glue, paint, and glitter. Simply hot glue three popsicle sticks to a jumbo popsicle stick, evenly spaced. Then, flip over and glue two popsicle sticks horizontally over top of the three vertical popsicle sticks. Let the kids paint the popsicle stick windows however they please. Once the paint is dry, add a Santa hat to the photos, if desired. Hot glue the photos to the back of the window. If you're not using 4x6 photos, you can cut out the photo of your child and glue it to a solid color background. Your popsicle stick window ornaments are now ready to hang on your tree or in your windows!
7. 3D Paper Snowman Ornaments
Making 3D paper snowman ornaments is a fun and easy winter craft for kids. All you need is some white card stock, tape, ribbon, and orange and brown card stock for the nose and twigs. Simply cut six circles of 2" and 3" on the white card stock, fold them in half, and tape them together with crafter's tape. Do not form the ball shapes yet. Then, apply two strips of crafter's tape side-by-side right down the middle at the back of both pieces, and attach a length of ribbon along here. Close the back of the snowman with more tape. Finally, cut a long triangle for the nose, and two "twigs" shaped like arms. Attach the nose to the top sphere and the arms to the bottom one as shown. These cute snowman ornaments are sure to bring some holiday cheer to your home!
